Activists Change Billboard To ‘We Make KIDS Disappear’.

Three guerrilla art activists from the group, Indecline, shimmied up ladders and acknowledged vandalizing a billboard in Emeryville at daybreak Thursday, attacking the Trump administration’s separation of migrant families.

A 20-something activist who would not identify himself by name told KTVU by phone and he and two others from the artist collective were behind the secretive art warfare.

“We’ve been doing this for about 17 years,” the anonymous man said. “This is how we get out the message.”

In a video the group posted on Instagram, three people dressed in black are seen shutting off powerlines and repainting a “We make junk disappear” billboard along to “We make kids disappear.” Instead of the 1-800 Got Junk number, the activists repainted the words, “I.C.E.”

Clear Channel spokesman Jason King told KTVU by email that the company is :aware of the vandalism and are working to repair, replace or remove the defaced ad by COB today.”

The billboard is located off the freeway by the Courtyard Marriott.

The anonymous artist told KTVU that he’d never been arrested or fined specifically for billboard vandalism before.
